Our Mission
The Salem Farm Market started as a dream between a flower farmer and her florist. It has now grown into a business and a staple in our community. Guaranteed to be a place to relax, catch up with old friends, shop for your weekend plans, and experience all of Salem Ohio’s fun possibilities. Whether rain or shine you can always count on SFM to be there!
Salem Farm Market is meant to exist so that our community of Salem, OH has a place to come together and connect with each other, our food, and the local farmers that work here. We will be a place that will become a staple in our town, through rain or shine. You can count on quality goods and genuine fellowship.
The Salem Farm Market will create an environment that fosters growth to the surrounding business, while offering those that can’t afford a brick and mortar a platform to grow their business. It will also help those in our community on a limited income with the option of Whole Foods at their fingertips.
As the community continues to grow, a Farmer’s Market will provide a cornerstone for people to come together for their morning coffee at Libs and enjoy meeting up with friends to walk the market. At the market the tents will be bursting with fresh greens and produce, mushrooms and fruits, bakery goods and honey. After the weekly groceries are purchased from our local farmers our streets will be bustling with economic growth as patrons shop the local businesses.
Our Work
-
Supporting Makers
Our goal is to offer dozens of farmers, crafters, and makers with a space to sell their goods in downtown Salem every Saturday of the summer. Local businesses, organizations, and individuals are invited to support the market and by extension, our community!
-
Growing Community
Between the community garden, workshops and classes, and the weekly market, we want to see the Salem community come together and thrive together.
-
Sharing knowledge
Workshops, classes, and field days at the community garden will provide opportunities for passionate individuals in our community to share their knowledge and wisdom with everyone.
-
Caring for families
Good food, healthy food, and sustainable food is not just good for the land around us and our farmers, it is good for all of us too. Families in our community should have access to this food, and that’s why we want to bring it to them every weekend.
